Energy Conversion Nanomaterials - Ikuno's Laboratory

Towards realization of a safe and secure society, we create state-of-the-art energy conversion devices using low-dimensional carbon-related nanostructures such as nanosheets, nanotubes, and nanodots. In our laboratory, we synthesize the nanomaterials using both wet and dry methods, and investigate their electronic, mechanical, and optoelectronic properties using variety of techniques. We also fabricate high-dimensional architectures composed of the nanomaterials with surface and interface modifications. Using the architectures, novel thermal-to-mechanical, mechanical-to-electrical, and light-to-electrical energy conversion devices are created.
